Data Management
Due to high integration of existing components
in established business processes, an EDM project makes high
demands on internal and external resources (e. g. concerning
engagement, consulting quality, experience and exact scheduling).
An experienced partner is also necessary to protect investments
already made within the existing system landscape as
well as for the optimizing of processes beyond the present
status.
DSC Template EDM
EI (Efficient Implementation)
DSC offers efficient SAP Energy Data Management
implementations using DSC template EDM EI. This concept has
already been successfully applied in several implementation
projects and is continuously being enhanced. It is a conceptual
implementation of all SAP standard functions for EDM realization.
In this context, we use conceptional approaches as well as
existing tools, to automatically and precisely executes tasks,
such as entering master data, entirely in several systems.
Experience shows that many faults are not
detected before a system has been entirely specified, so that
one of the method's major advantages is that all established
systems (test, quality and production system) can be completely
provided with an entire EDM environment
very quickly. Thus, no partial migrations or tests take place
in an incomplete data environment. Consequently, having a
complete EDM environment, the implementation process can already
be tested in the first installations.
System Analysis - Review
Data analysis is a process of central significance
in every project and also in the context of quality assurance
of production systems. It is aimed at generating and communicating
know-how that forms the basis for decision making and taking
appropriate measures.
Master data analysis and the corresponding
validation is of utmost importance for settlement
results and their quality. Especially for customer
group allocation (temperature dependent
consumption, standard load shape customers, energy feeding)
and aggregation on voltage level, an unambiguous evaluation
is essential. For this purpose, DSC developed a computer-based
method for data analysis that enables the results to be mapped
and communicated in a user-friendly way. Using this method,
for example, it is possible to analyze what master data variants
are used and how often or in what combinations.
DSC Solutions in
EDM Environment
DSC is not only focused
on the implementation of SAP Energy Data Management including
SAP Intercompany Data Exchange for automated data exchange,
but also and in particular, has considerable expertise concerning
approved tools and enhancements. Experiences from previous
SAP Energy Data Management implementation projects show that
- depending on the customer specific situation - such solutions
are needed.

Aggregation of Consumptions on Voltage Level
Extending the master data
model enables voltage-level aggregations to be performed and
further processed without complex modifications on the grids.
Device Technology
Extension of existing device technology to EDM oriented
interval meters including the modification of interval meters
already installed
Migration of Standard Load Profiles
Allocation of required synthetic standard load profiles
to corresponding installations, incl. the predicted annual
consumption, either by providing data or by
evaluating existing billing data. Additionally, it
is possible to automatically adjust the predicted annual consumption
values to current values.
IDE - Data Exchange
In the context of intercompany data exchange we offer
a variety of approved enhancements, such as flexible POD (point
of delivery) allocation and dynamic configuration of subject
line and file name for data transfer. Furthermore, we implement
fully automated import processes, such as importing meteorological
data (temperatures), provided by meteorological services.
These processes can be used for interruptible consumer equipment
in the electricity division or for load shape profiles in
the gas division for calculation.
On demand, further mapping formats can be
integrated that allow the transformation of customer specific
ASCII formats or of EDIFACT messages not yet realized by SAP.

This contains enhancements
that check e. g. the settlement area coordinator during log
in.
